Water infrastructure jobs hold opportunity: report

Compared to other sectors, water infrastructure jobs pay well, do not demand as much formal education and provide high levels of on-the-job training and the chance to develop transferable skills, according to a new report from the Brookings Metropolitan Policy Program.

Urban and rural housing starts up from 2017

Urban and rural housing starts are trending up from a year ago, according to reports from Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation. The trend in housing starts was 216,362 units in May 2018, compared to 225,481 units in April 2018. Rural starts were estimated at 17,412 units, up from 16,145 in May 2017.
