New guideline for lead in drinking water

Health Canada, in collaboration with the provinces, territories and other federal departments, has updated the drinking water guideline to reduce the maximum acceptable concentration of lead in drinking water from 0.01 mg/L, set in 1992, to 0.005 mg/L.

Federal budget renews vow to end drinking-water advisories by March 2021

Federal finance Minister Bill Morneau announced $4.7-billion in spending for Indigenous people in Canada in the new federal budget and renewed its promise to end all drinking-water advisories on reserves by March 2021.
