Groundwater in Minto, N.B. continues to be monitored two years after tire fire

Groundwater that may have been impacted by contaminants from a tire fire here two years ago appears to be flowing away from local water supplies.

The shipment of the water bottles has spared about 265 cubic metres of plastic from entering the local landfill.


One of two damaged wells from fall flood ready to resume operations in Merritt, B.C.

Extensive flooding in the fall of 2021 led to the loss of two of the city’s five wells that accounted for the municipality’s entire water supply. One of the affected wells, however, is on pace to be operational again.


N.B. village’s drinking water security bolstered from federal, provincial, municipal funding

The funding will help replace water and sewer service pipes and the installation of a new storm sewer line to separate sanitary sewer collection service.


Province invests nearly $16 million for long-awaited water pipeline in Okotoks, Alta.

The pipeline will feed water treatment facilities at both sites from the junction of the Highwood and Bow rivers. Okotoks has experienced water supply challenges for more than a decade.
