Grants offered to decommission Niagara water wells and improve local water quality

A communications specialist with the Niagara Peninsula Conservation Authority says if an unused well isn’t properly decommissioned, it poses a risk to groundwater supplies which could be contaminated with E. coli or other pollutants.

Manitoba community’s drinking water source has guideline-exceeding arsenic levels

The Office of Drinking Water advises residents, whose primary drinking water source is from the local supply, to reduce what they consume, adding boiling water will not reduce the amount of arsenic present.


Recent rainfall allows for lifting of treated drinking water ban at B.C.’s Sunshine Coast

Non-essential businesses, including breweries and concrete, asphalt and gravel companies, were forbidden from using treated drinking water during the ban period. The order impacted the Sunshine Coast Regional District, the District of Sechelt and the shíshálh Nation.
