Ron Hill is a 15-year aquaculture professional with a wide array of experience and skills. Ron has a strong background in hatchery operations, aquaculture education and aquaculture content. Ron is the founder and CEO of Velocity Aqua – Aquaculture Entrepreneur Support Service and the host of “Think Tanks – The Sustainable Aquaculture Podcast.”

Leah Stoker has been a part of the AquacultureTalent team for more than two years. She has developed new business for the company in the United States, sourcing positions and professionals to fill key roles in the aquaculture, seafood and fisheries industries. “I’m a match maker – the spark has to be there and the want to work together, and then connect, and be dedicated to the other,” she said. Stoker’s professional background includes aquaculture, business development, career counselling and recruiting.

Panelist
Ben Normand has been working in aquaculture for 7 years. His experience includes working with Rainbow trout, Chinook Salmon, and Blue Mussels, in both Canada and New Zealand. His education includes a B.A. from U of T in Environmental Policy and an Aquaculture Certificate from Fleming College. He currently lives in PEI where he is working as an Operations Manager with a Mussel farming operation.

Jeff Hetrick is a 40-year veteran of the Alaska aquaculture industry. Prior to taking over the role of director of the Alutiiq Pride Marine Institute (APMI) in Seward, Alaska in 2002, Jeff worked for 20 years in salmon enhancement, working for private non-profits as well as the Alaska Department of Fish and Game. APMI produces oysters and geoducks for the aquatic farm industry. It also produces several varieties of clams for beaches in South Central Alaska—including littleneck, butter, and razor clams.
