Whole Oceans appoints new hatchery manager for Maine operations

Maine, USA-based fish farm company Whole Oceans has chosen a person with more than 20 years of progressive experience in recirculating aquaculture systems (RAS) to manage its hatchery operations.


UK’s FloGro Fresh plans shrimp hatchery build

In response to increasing demand, FloGro Fresh shrimp farm are planning to build a hatchery. The UK-based operation, which grows shrimp to 30 grams before selling them to the local market, claims to be the first in the region to farm Whiteleg Shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei).


Official report inconclusive on Noon’s Creek fish losses

Department of Fisheries and Oceans investigation into the causes of significant fish losses at the Noon’s Creek Hatchery in British Columbia, Canada, was able to rule out a virus or disease, but was unable to pinpoint a specific cause.
