BioMar puts a halt on all commercial activities with and within Russia

Global fish feed manufacturer BioMar Group has joined a growing list companies that are suspending commercial activities in Russia following President Vladimir Putin’s decision to invade Ukraine. The trade ban has been approved by the company’s board, and BioMar has begun the process of closing all activities, evaluating commitments and goods in transit in the supply chain on a case by case basis.

Industry players receptive to seafood sanctions against Russia

Russia is a small player in aquaculture but its role in supplying the world with wild-caught seafood could still impact the industry at large. The expansion of Grieg Seafood BC Ltd.’s (Grieg’s) Gold River Hatchery project, known as the RAS 34 Project, is coming close to completion, and the team celebrated reaching the first three milestones signaling the end of the project is near, in mid-February.
