Several thousands of sterlet (Acipenser ruthenus) fry have been released into the Dniester River in the Chernivtsi region of Ukraine, the Ukrainian Environmental Ministry said in a statement on its Facebook page on April 9. This is the first time the Ukrainian hatcheries resumed.
