Lake Champlain lake trout stocking to end as wild populations thrive

A lake trout stocking program will stop after this spring because wild populations in Lake Champlain no longer need augmenting by hatchery-reared fish. This was achieved through decades of work by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, the Vermont Fish and Wildlife Department, and the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation.
