A new study warns that the ocean's acidification levels have surpassed the safe limits of marine operation. Researchers found that this degree of ocean acidification could explain the considerable declines in suitable habitats for important marine species, like crabs, oysters, mussels and other bivalves, corals and pteropods.

It is now more user-friendly but still makes reliable measurements of the free dissolved CO₂ directly, unaffected by carbonates or other substances.
