Pilot project sees carbon emissions drop 15-35% in Ecuador shrimp farms

In a pilot project with The Nature Conservancy, Ecuador’s shrimp farms saw carbon emission reductions of 15 to 35 percent. The project helped Ecuador introduce science-based best practices aimed at reducing emissions across the supply chain.


Kentucky SU, South Korean researchers partner to promote aquaculture

Kentucky State University (KSU)’s Dr. Andrew Ray is co-leading a Joint Project Agreement between the U.S. and South Korea to foster aquaculture. Ray and South Korean marine shrimp researcher Dr. Bae Sun-Bye will tour aquaculture facilities in each other’s countries, and meet with researchers and government officials.


Benchmark Genetics studies disease resistance in whiteleg shrimp

Benchmark Genetics has released a study on the genetic basis of resistance in whiteleg shrimp to co-infection of Enterocytozoon hepatopenaei (EHP) and White Feces Syndrome (WFS). The study paves the way for shrimp farmers to have sustainable disease management solutions
