In Ecuador, the Sustainable Shrimp Partnership (SSP) and IDH are measuring and validating that their SSP shrimp farm workers are paid a living wage. With IDH's program, Salary Matrix, companies can determine whether their wages meet or exceed a living wage threshold - or fall below.

A study to investigate the effects of feeding Pacific white shrimp (P. vannamei) with fresh green macroalgae (Chaetomorpha clavata) has shown that replacing 50 percent of the commercial feed with fresh algae did not affect the growth or mortality rates of shrimp.
