The Tasmanian Greens have proposed to convert hatcheries to RAS, as part of a larger plan to clean up salmon farms. The Greens – a group of MPs in state parliament – want to transition the industry to on-land and closed-loop, the group said on their website.

Florida Atlantic University’s Harbor Branch Oceanographic Institute is partnering with The Island School’s Cape Eleuthera Institute in the Bahamas to launch a new aquaculture project focused on conch. They plan to establish a mobile lab to grow up to 2,000 juvenile queen conch per year.

Ferrosilicon plant Finnfjord AS is using algae to “eat” all its carbon emissions. The algae is then incorporated into salmon feed by Nofima, the organization said on its website.

The success of Wyoming’s helicopter stocking operations is dependent on months of careful planning and coordination. Each year, the Wyoming Game & Fish Department stocks approximately 100,000 fish (three to four inches) into roughly 80 high alpine lakes. Fish are typically stocked the last week of July each year.
