Copper can be aggressive and doesn't always treat other piping systems – or itself – well at high temperatures, flow velocities and chlorine levels. The Plastics Pipe Institute's (PPI's) Building & Construction Division recently posted a new publication on the topic:

It targets users of polypropylene random (PP-R) piping systems for domestic hot water plumbing applications and provides impartial, important information for domestic hot water recirculation (DHWR) systems integrating both PP and copper (Mixed Systems).
