EXAIR Provides Powerful Cleaning Tools!

Super Air Knife

EXAIR's Super Air Knife very efficiently produces a quiet, hard-hitting curtain of air for cleaning, drying and cooling on webs or conveyors. Both compressed air usage and noise are dramatically lower than other blowoffs. To provide edge-to-edge cleaning, it has been engineered to deliver a uniform sheet of laminar airflow across its entire length. Even at high pressures of 80 PSIG (5.5 BAR), the sound level is surprisingly quiet at 69dBA for most applications — well below OSHA workday limits. Super Air Knives are available in stock lengths from 3" (76mm) to 108" (2743mm) in aluminum, Type 303 stainless steel, Type 316 stainless steel, and PVDF.

An automotive chassis component manufacturer installed a Super Air Knife on a chip conveyor to reduce carry over of coolant that would have normally gone into the scrap hopper. This has significantly reduced coolant consumption.

LEARN MORE ABOUT SUPER ION AIR KNIVES

EXAIR's Gen4 Super Ion Air Knife takes all of the efficient, effective cleaning, drying, and cooling capability of the Super Air Knife and adds the ability to remove static. It uses a small amount of compressed air to produce a powerful, laminar sheet of ionized air that sweeps surfaces clean of static, particulates, dust and dirt up to 20 feet (6.1m) away. It efficiently deionizes plastics, webs, sheet stock and other product surfaces where a static charge can build up, causing tearing, jamming or shocks that can be hazardous to personnel. Like the Super Air Knife, the Gen4 Super Ion Air Knife uses less air and produces less noise than comparable blowoffs.

An automotive glass coater used a Model 112072 72" (1829mm) Super Ion Air Knife to eliminate flaws in a window tint coating application.

Super Air Nozzle

Often, as a quick or 'inexpensive' solution, a manufacturer will use an open air pipe to remove dust or dry off a part on a production line. That quick solution will — in the long run — cost more money to operate, produce harmful noise, and create a potential safety hazard for operators.

The economical and safe Super Air Nozzle is truly cost-effective. It efficiently uses compressed air to produce outlet flows of up to 25 times consumption! Super Air Nozzles are engineered to produce low noise and to prevent the potential for a deadly blocked airflow condition.

A manufacturer makes band saw blades from strip stock. The stock is normalized, saw teeth are cut in and set then flame hardened and quenched. It then goes through a wash, cut to length and welded. They were using a ring blower to dry the strip but it was not effective. Water was being left and interfered with the welding operation. Substituting the blower with two Model 1103 Mini Super Nozzles, they were able to effectively dry the strip and eliminate their welding problems.

LEARN MORE ABOUT SUPER AIR AMPLIFIERS

EXAIR's Super Air Amplifiers are ideal for moving large volumes of air to draw out dust or fumes or to cool or dry larger spaces and parts. They are able to multiply their outlet flow by up to 25 times the supplied compressed air!

Super Air Amplifiers have no moving parts, assuring maintenance-free operation. Both the vacuum and discharge end can be ducted, allowing for optimal positioning on the application. They are available in outlet diameters from 3/4" (19mm) all the way up to 8" (203mm).

A resale account had a customer who was coating parts in a chamber. When the operator opened the door of the chamber to remove the parts, a blast of noxious fumes would blow in his face. Mounting a Model 120021 1-1/4" (32mm) Super Air Amplifier through the wall of the chamber created a negative pressure so that when the doors opened, the flow of air would be into the chamber and not the operator's face.

Chip Vac

EXAIR's Chip Vac is a compressed air powered industrial duty vacuum that can vacuum chips directly into an ordinary, open top 30, 55 or 110 gallon drum. For small cleanups, a 5 gallon Mini Chip Vac is also available.

To keep the surrounding air clean, dusty materials are trapped by a 0.1 micron filter bag. The Chip Vac is ideal for cleaning chips from fixtures, floors and work surfaces of machining centers, lathes, saws, mills, etc. Since it is powered by compressed air, there are no electric motors to burn out or impellers to clog.

A company that makes motors has a machining process for a stationary motor that takes almost 4 hours to complete. During that time, a large amount of metal shavings would collect on the bedways and around the machine. Periodically, an operator would have to shut down machining so that they could shovel out the chips. To eliminate the downtime, the company purchased a Model 6193 Chip Vac. With the included extension wand, the operator is able to clean the shavings out of machine spaces without shutting down operations.
