IIoT and the Future of Supply Chain Management

White Paper - Vega
The Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) is being heralded as the next big thing in industrial automation. IIoT brings together smart machines, sensors, advanced analytics, data storage, and people increase to process safety and efficiency. This article, co-authored by a pair of VEGA Americas technology experts, explains how IIoT technology will improve plant operations and revolutionize inventory control and supply chain management.

Taking the Leap from Analog to Digital for Multivariate Process Controls in Manufacturing

Alpha Controls & Instrumentation
Manufacturing processes are in the midst of a major transformation as companies make the leap from analog to digital. While many have committed to making the switch, a number of them still look upon it with trepidation. This is changing due to the increased use of process controls within manufacturing.

Alarm Trips: The Ups and Downs

Moore Industries
When something happens in your plant, whether it's a signal peak or fall, you have to know about it. A limit alarm trip can be a life saver, triggering the response needed to maintain normal, safe operations. Gary Prentice of Moore Industries covers how to use alarm trips to monitor a process and activate a warning or shutdown in the event of an undesirable high or low process condition.

The Benefits of Smart Conveying Technology (SCT) for Progressive Cavity Pump (PCP) High Pressure Applications

John Brooks Company
A PCP is a rotary positive displacement pump that employs a single helix metal rotor turning inside a double helix rubber stator to create sealed cavities that progress from the pump suction to the discharge. Wide ranges of viscosity, temperature, and solids content can be conveyed with low shear rates. SEEPEX SCT pumps do not need to be removed for maintenance. Nor does the suction or discharge piping need removing. In both one and two -stage SCT pumps, the compression between the rotor and the stator can be adjusted to achieve required pressure, thereby reducing torque and current requirements and operating costs.
