Canada’s federal government is implementing several measures to support the country’s steel sector. A key initiative announced was a strengthening of the tariff rate quotas (TRQs), which will allow a certain amount of steel to come in at a reduced tariff or tariff-free, with higher tariffs applying after a limit is reached.
