There were some signs of life in this month's S&P Global Canada Manufacturing PMI, and the good news was certainly welcome after a report last week finding the Canadian economy as a whole experienced a 1.6 per cent contraction in Q2. Read more below.

Canada’s manufacturing economy remained inside contraction territory during August, with output, new orders and employment all declining since July albeit at noticeably slower rates compared to earlier in the year, S&P Global’s Canada Manufacturing Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI) for August found.
