Searching for the latest and greatest information and research related to manure? Then, the North American Manure Expo is a can't miss event.
The 2018 North American Manure Expo is coming to Brookings, South Dakota on Aug. 15th and 16th. And, along with a stacked trade show, the Expo will offer attendees 24 manure-related education sessions.
On Thursday, Aug. 16th beginning at 9 a.m., Brooking's Swiftel Center will welcome industry experts from across the country to discuss the latest and greatest in manure.
Six topics will be covered in four concurrent sessions:
- Manure Basics. This session will include a presentation from Dan Andersen, assistant professor, agriculture and biosystems engineering with Iowa State University who will discuss manure application uniformity of solid and liquid manure.
- Manure and the environment. A session highlight here will be Kevin Erb, conservation professional training program director with the University of Wisconsin Extension, who will discuss emergency response in a natural disaster.
- Manure on the job site. Jerry Nelson, a former dairy farmer and writer for the Dairy Star will be featured in this session with his presentation, After the manure pit: Surviving a near death encounter with hydrogen sulfide.
- Manure and soil health. Here, soil field specialist with South Dakota State University Extension, Anthony Bly, will be one of six presenters. He will address manure management rate effects on soil health in South Dakota.
