OH hog barn equipped with new way to manage manure

A new hog barn in Madison County has thousands of color-changing LED lights, sophisticated computer ventilation controls and an automated feeding system that can serve thousands of pigs with the flip of a switch, but it is what lies 10 feet beneath the 733-foot-long barn that is exciting.


Manure storage, handling safety and rescue training

To help both farmers and emergency response personnel understand the hazards of manure storage and handling systems, a safety workshop will be held in South Wayne, WI, on June 12.


New life for manure digester

Once infamous for spills, permit violations and even an explosion, the manure digester just north of Waunakee is now receiving accolades from an environmental group dedicated to clean lakes.
