Maryland to phase in manure restrictions without delay

Joseph Bartenfelder, secretary with the Maryland Department of Agriculture, announced Dec. 23 the state will not delay the restrictions to be imposed on more than 1,300 farms regarding the use of animal manure to fertilize farm fields.


Farmer nutrient certification class offered in Wisconsin

Wisconsin farmers can participate in a free nutrient certification class on Jan. 10 or Jan. 17 to gain a better understanding of nutrient management plans, and how to write their own.


Dry manure applicator certification workshops approaching

Iowa State University Extension and Outreach, along with the Iowa Department of Natural Resources, will offer manure applicator certification workshops for dry/solid manure operators across six locations in the state throughout the month of February.
