What is one to do when their manure is dry and their climate is wet? Washington State has a long tradition of dairy farming – and a reputation as a rainy state with a long wet season – sometimes up to 35 inches between October and March. A study in the state looks to find the ideal manure storage system so dry manure can be protected from the elements (and leaching can be prevented) and then accessed easily for application once things dry up. Plus, the system has to be cost-effective. So, what is the ideal solution?
