Understanding the nutrient makeup of your manure – which can change based on your location, type of animal, diet and a whole array of other factors – is essential when calculating spreading rates and other activity. But has information historically been a bit dated? A new Minnesota project, ManureDB, came to fruition earlier this year to ensure that manure "book values" are current. The 2023 North American Manure Expo might be in the rearview mirror, but the lessons learned at the event will last attendees a lifetime. One of the day-one tours at the event was at the EnTech digester facility outside of Madison, WI. Pulling in manure from three farms to its three one-million gallon digesters, EnTech produces RNG, concentrated liquid nutrients and solid digestate – plus, on-site EV charging.
