PTDA’s 2Q2016 Sales History & Outlook Report predicts slower sales growth through 2016

The second quarter Sales History & Outlook Report released by the Power Transmission Distributors Association (PTDA) shows power transmission/motion control (PT/MC) distributor sales have declined 6.1 per cent from one year ago. Leading indicators suggest the weakness in sales will abate by the end of 2016.


Suncor Energy announces 2017 capital spending program and production outlook

Suncor’s 2017 corporate guidance includes a capital spending program of between $4.8 billion and $5.2 billion and average production of 680,000 to 720,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day (boe/d). The numbers point to an increase to production and a clamp down on capital spending.

Helicopter maintenance trainer advances engineering program in Saskatchewan

Sikorsky, a Lockheed Martin company, and the Saskatchewan Indian Institute of Technologies (SIIT) celebrated the transfer of an S-76A helicopter maintenance trainer to the Saskatchewan Aviation Learning Centre. Valued at CAD 1.3 million (USD 945,000), the non-flying, twin-engine helicopter provides a learning tool for students pursuing a career in aviation maintenance.
