How 'Dry January' is the secret to better sleep, saving money and losing weight

New research from the University of Sussex shows that taking part in Dry January -- abstaining from booze for a month -- sees people regaining control of their drinking, having more energy, better skin and losing weight. They also report drinking less, months later.


Researchers find lasting impact of concussions on young adults

"Multiple concussions, even after general symptoms have subsided, decrease an individual's ability to flexibly shift their mode of thinking," said Robert Ross, assistant professor of psychology. "We found that these decreases in performance are associated with changes in how the brain communicates information."


Study provides new insights on how multimodal senses are interpreted by the brain

Researchers report how the somatosensory cortex interprets tactile and auditory stimulation in mice and rats. They show that the barrel cortex response to auditory and tactile stimuli is additive, but also with different electrophysiological properties.
