Opinion: Is the title of “Sport Massage Therapist” illegal in Canada?

The CSMTA members cannot call themselves a specialist in Sport Massage. In order to be recognized as a specialist in the regulated provinces, the regulatory body must authorize the designation in that province.


75 percent of New Brunswick registered massage therapists surveyed have been targets of harassment or sexual assault according to new study

The study, which surveyed therapists throughout New Brunswick, was done on behalf of the Association of New Brunswick Massage Therapists (ANBMT) and undertaken by Dr. Lucia O’Sullivan, a professor in the department of psychology at UNB, and Morgan Richard, a PhD candidate at UNB.
