Alberta highway worker struck while on the job, in serious condition

A highway worker is in serious, potentially life-threatening condition after being struck while on the job northeast of Fort Saskatchewan, Alta. CTV Edmonton reports the crash happened about 7:45 a.m. on Monday on Highway 15.

A Brockville, Ont. judge has acquitted the Royal Ottawa Health Care Group on four out of five occupational health and safety charges, arising out of a patient’s attack on an employee of the Brockville Mental Health Centre two years ago.

Man charged with second-degree murder in death of London, Ont. taxi driver

Officers found 64-year-old Vijay Bhatia of London without vital signs, and he was pronounced dead in hospital. Investigators say Bhatia had picked up two passengers and allege he was assaulted by one of them after driving the pair to the parking lot.

Former military officer charged with sexual assault in B.C.

A former officer stationed at Canadian Forces Base Esquimalt in British Columbia has been charged with sexual assault. National Defence says that the assault was alleged to have occurred against another military employee in 2010.

Soldier who died while training was in vehicle involved in other fatal accidents

Sgt. Robert Dynerowicz died in hospital, and three other soldiers were hurt, after their LAV III crashed last Tuesday on a gravel road. Col. Conrad Mialkowski of 2 Canadian Mechanized Brigade Group said the accident is under investigation.
