Air Canada pilots say near collision should prompt better action on pilot fatigue

TORONTO - A near-collision of an Air Canada jet at San Francisco's airport should be a wake-up call for the federal government to adequately address pilot fatigue for overnight flights, the union representing the airline's pilots said Wednesday.


RCMP make arrest after online threat made against Saskatchewan school

TISDALE, Sask. - Saskatchewan RCMP secured a school in Tisdale Thursday morning while officers investigated a threat on social media. RCMP say the threat was made against Tisdale Middle and Secondary School, although police say they aren't releasing other details at this time.


Review finds former Victoria police chief committed 8 acts of misconduct

VICTORIA - A former Victoria police chief "caught in a web of untruths'' was handed unprecedented disciplinary action Wednesday after a review found Frank Elsner committed eight acts of misconduct under British Columbia's Police Act.
