Impala Canada and SCR Mines Technology have been fined a total of $430,000 after a worker was killed on the job in 2020. The fine comes after OHS Canada reported just this week that Impala Canada had also been fined $50,000 after a worker was injured in a fall from a scissor lift.

Work has resumed at a precious metals mine in south-central Montana a day after a 24-year-old worker died in an underground machinery accident, mine officials said. Noah Dinger of Post Falls, Idaho, died just before 1:30 a.m. last Monday when he was operating a machine that bolts wire panels onto the stone walls of an underground area to prevent falling rock during future mining.
