Glass contractor fined $150,000 after supervisor killed

A glass contractor has been fined $150,000 after one of its supervisors was killed while installing an exterior building panel at York University in Toronto. Stouffville Glass Inc. was subcontracted by the constructor to complete the exterior and interior glass installation, as well as the installation of exterior aluminum panels.


WorkSafeBC launches online registry of licensed asbestos abatement contractors

Starting Jan. 1, 2024, asbestos abatement employers must be licensed to operate in B.C. This means business owners and contractors must ensure their asbestos abatement contractor holds a valid licence before allowing them to carry out work.
