On June 14, the Board of Canadian Registered Safety Professionals (BCRSP) ratified a memorandum of understanding with the Canadian Registration Board of Occupational Hygienists (CRBOH). The new agreement will give BCRSP and CRBOH certificants alternative routes to achieve dual certification.

Following a comprehensive review of crane safety, and informed by stakeholder input and feedback, WorkSafeBC has developed a risk-reduction strategy with recommendations to improve tower crane safety in the province. Quebec has announced $2.4 million over four years to cover the legal expenses for people who file claims of psychological harassment or sexual violence in the workplace. To be eligible for the funding, people will have to file a complaint with the province's workplace safety board.

A fire likely sparked by exploding lithium batteries swept through a manufacturing factory near South Korea’s capital on Monday, killing 22 mostly Chinese migrant workers and injuring eight, officials said. The fire began after batteries exploded while workers were examining and packaging them on the second floor of the factory.
