Two companies fined a total of $230,000 after workplace fatality

New Horizon Development Group (Waterdown) Inc. and TKEM Electric Ltd., have been fined a total of $230,000 after a fatality at a commercial construction project in Hamilton, Ont.


Agricultural business fined $175,000 after workplace injury

Marvara Farms Ltd. has been fined $175,000 after a worker was critically injured falling into an operating cardboard bale hopper.


Construction company fined $70,000 for workplace injury

Steed and Evans Ltd. has been fined $70,000 after a worker was critically injured on the site of a construction project in Fergus, Ont.


Blown tire blamed for causing passenger plane's landing gear to collapse in Halifax

A blown tire is to blame for the collapse of a passenger plane's landing gear as it touched down in Halifax last month, causing an engine fire and evacuation of the aircraft, the Transportation Safety Board of Canada says.
