WSIB reduces average premium rate for Ontario businesses

The Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) has announced the average premium rate for Ontario businesses in 2026 will be reduced to $1.23 per $100 of insurable payroll, down from $1.25 in 2025. This reduction will help businesses save $60 million compared to 2025, as they face ongoing economic uncertainty.


Call for speakers at the 2026 Workplace Injury Summit!

OHS Canada is welcoming speaker proposals to present at its second annual Workplace Injury Summit. On Jan. 28, 2026, this virtual event will welcome hundreds of health and safety professionals seeking advice and insights to prevent injuries in the workplace and support injured workers in their return to work.


Quebec company fined $65,000 after workers injured on Ottawa job site

7143818 Ontario Inc., operating as Regional Fence out of Gatineau, Que., has been fined $65,000 after two workers were injured on a job site.


Prefab home maker fined $60,000 after workplace injury

Advanced Building Innovation Company Inc., based in Nepean, Ont., has been fined $60,000 after a worker was injured by an automatic nailing machine.


Miller raising breast cancer awareness through Burn & Blossom helmet sales

Miller Electric Mfg. LLC, a worldwide manufacturer of Miller brand arc welding equipment, has announced the return of its collaboration with the Susan G. Komen Foundation in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Throughout October, with every Burn & Blossom helmet sold, a portion of the proceeds will be donated to the foundation.
