    Heidelberg Introduces Push to Stop Operating Philosophy

    At drupa 2016, Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG unveiled a new operating philosophy called Push to Stop, also referred to by the press maker as autonomous printing, to approach true manufacturing. The concept is to have the press initiate a series of print jobs that are properly queued up by Heidelberg’s Prinect software, which also relies on the company’s new-generation press console, called Prinect Press Center XL 2 with Intellistart 2 user software and an assistance system such as Intelliguide.     Georgian Adds Triumph

    Georgian Copy, a trade printing operation, based in Barrie, Ont., has purchased a Triumph 5560 cutter, which stores 99 programs with up to 99 steps in each, and the ability to have 15 repeat cuts as a single step. >> Read full article

    HP Unveils PageWide C500 Press

    HP Unveils PageWide C500 Press

    At drupa 2016, HP today unveiled the new PageWide C500 Press and an Indigo Combination Press, both of which are still under development. The HP PageWide C500 Press, designed for corrugated direct-to-board printing, leverages 30 years of HP thermal inkjet technology and the company’s newer PageWide Printing Technology. HP plans to start testing the HP PageWide C500 Press at customer sites in 2017, and the press is expected to be commercially available in 2018. The Indigo Digital Combination Press concept will incorporate HP Indigo print and digital embellishments in one press, creating a single-pass solution for high-value labels and packaging production. >> Read More
