Your potato profits are at risk. The Pest Management Regulatory Agency plans to cancel all use of Capture® insecticide in potatoes by the end of this year. This could prove catastrophic for the yield, quality and marketability of your potato crops.
Without Capture insecticide to control wireworms, you will face economic disadvantages such as reduced yields, rejected potatoes, the inability to compete in other markets and possible insect resistance. With few suitable alternatives to Capture insecticide, you must send the PMRA the message that it is a critical-need pesticide. The last chance to send comments is September 14.
Send a message to the PMRA.
Visit ProtectPotatoProfits.ca to submit your comments by September 14 and have your voice be heard. Customizable sample comments are provided to make it quick and easy.
