KEYSTONE POTATO PRODUCERS ASSOCIATION/KEYSTONE VEGETABLE PRODUCERS ASSOCIATION with an office located in Portage la Prairie is inviting applicants for the position of General Manager.
Responsibilities in leading this grower association include:
- Provide representation for process potato growers in Manitoba.
- Understand grower concerns.
- Arrange and preside over the Association Board and grower meetings.
- Ensure adherence to Manitoba Farm Products Marketing Act and Board regulations.
- Must be skillful in contract negotiations.
- Represent KPPA/KVPA on affiliated entities in the wider potato community.
- Liaison with Federal and Provincial government departments.
- Oversee KPPA/KVPA interests in potato research.
- Oversee day to day operations, maintain budgets and optimize expenses.
- Oversee recruitment and training of new employees.
- Must work well within an office environment.
To be successful in the role the applicant should be a thoughtful leader and a confident decision maker working well to create an atmosphere of trust and consensus. Knowledge of the potato industry is an asset.
