Potato shortfall leaves some fry shacks short of essential ingredient

Businesses in Eastern Canada are having problems sourcing potatoes. A delayed planting season and hot summer have resulted in a lower supply of potatoes, despite increasing demand.

New mefenoxam-resistant strain of late blight found

A new strain of late blight that is mefenoxam-resistant has been identified in New York State. Currently the strain has only been found in tomatoes, but under a laboratory setting, the strain has infected potatoes.
