For potato growers, late blight can do serious damage to yields and profits before it’s even detected. While some producers use a spray mitigation program in anticipation of late blight, that strategy can cost time and money. But low-tech, “passive” spore traps could allow growers to capture and identify late blight spores, alerting them to potential pressure from the disease before it gets out of hand.
