From climate challenges and high costs to expensive inputs and difficult road transportation, farms in northern regions of Canada, such as Happy Valley-Goose Bay, deal with different challenges than their neighbours to the south. Growers and advocates say it’s crucial to look at food production in Canada’s North through a different lens than production that occurs in the country’s more temperate regions.
