Upgraded Manitoba facility will allow for innovative potato storage research

Funding from the Canadian and Manitoba governments will upgrade the University of Manitoba’s horticulture storage facility so it can conduct innovative potato research.


P.E.I. farmers say federal restrictions imposed to manage potato wart went too far

Prince Edward Island potato farmers say a new report on potato wart shows the 2021 decision to halt exports to the United States went too far, and they want remaining restrictions lifted for farms where the soil-borne fungus has not been found.


Potato holdings were up significantly at end of 2022

Potato storage holdings in December were up almost 12 per cent over the three-year average according to a report provided to the industry by the United Potato Growers of Canada.
