Containerboard during COVID-19: What’s happening in Canada?

Pulp & Paper Canada has a new podcast!

We start our series by talking to Allen Kirkpatrick, executive director for the Canadian Corrugated & Containerboard Association (CCCA).

Kirkpatrick details how the containerboard industry has been affected by the pandemic and how they’re handling sanitization of their products and facilities. He also discusses new technologies converters and roll-stock producers should be aware of, and how the pulp and paper industry can bring more public awareness to Canada’s use of recycled fibre.

“I think maybe the pandemic will heighten that [producers] need to help customers understand why they have selected corrugated cardboard packaging,” he says during the conversation.

“We have over 12,000 employees across the country. It’s time for them to realize that by the world telling us we’re essential to the essential – well, [let’s] help people understand why.”
