DSS Valves are Designed to Shear Solids!

CGIS is the exclusive Canadian distributor for the premier Severe Service Knife Gate Valves (SSKGVs) on the market today - DSS Valves. This innovative brand offers zero leakage, bi-directional isolation that can isolate from full vacuum to ASME Class 1500/PN 250 (3750 psig/250 barg), making it a great option for severe Pulp & Paper applications.

As odd as it sounds, traditional knife gate valves cannot cut through material on a repeatable basis. Solids such as pulp in the pipeline cause traditional gates to deflect, warp, and leak to atmosphere.

Guided Shear Gate Partially Open Guided Shear Gate Fully Closed

DSS Valves has overcome this problem by using a Guided Shear Gate Design. When material is struck by the shearing tip, it is fractured and angled away, enabling zero leakage where the gate meets the primary seal. From open to close the gate is guided the entire way removing any option to deflect or warp.
