Are you at risk for a dust explosion?

Pulp and paper mills often produce high levels of dust that could be combustible and pose a potential explosion hazard. By conducting a Dust Hazard Assessment, your facility can address and mitigate major factors involved in an explosion, including:

  • Identify building areas and process sections with combustible dusts
  • Recognize and mitigate credible ignition sources
  • Implement proper housekeeping techniques
  • Improve process design features for inherently safer operations
  • Validate explosion isolation, prevention and protection methods
  • Employ proper personal protective equipment
  • Training for front-line employees
