Northern Pulp calls on public for deadline help

Northern Pulp, the embattled Nova Scotia pulp mill, is calling on the public as it attempts to secure more time on a government-imposed deadline for the building of a new effluent drainage pipe.

West Fraser to curtail some production at B.C. sawmills, 135 jobs impacted

West Fraser Timber Co. has announced it will permanently curtail approximately 300 million board feet of combined lumber production at its Fraser Lake and Quesnel sawmills, which will lead to approximately 135 jobs being impacted.
