Mercer shares results for first quarter of 2022; declares quarterly dividend

Mercer International reported its results for the first quarter of 2022. Operating EBITDA increased to $154.5 million from $82 million in the first quarter of 2021 and decreased from $164.9 million in the fourth quarter of 2021.

Canfor sets targets to achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2050

Canfor announced that it is implementing a comprehensive plan to achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2050. This is aligned with its sustainability strategy announced in October 2021.

Northern Pulp files CCCA hearing materials with the court

Northern Pulp recently filed its CCAA materials with the court ahead of its April 29 hearing. The mill has requested a six-month extension to advance the environmental assessment and settlement discussions with the province and get it closer to operations.
