Several Canadian aquaculture organization extended their welcome to newly named Fisheries and Oceans minister, Member of Parliament Joyce Murray. Murray who is the MP for Vancouver Quadra, was among the new cabinet ministers named by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau in a sweeping cabinet shuffle Tuesday morning.

The Orkney Shellfish Hatchery, a multi-species aquaculture hatchery that utilizes individual recirculating aquaculture systems (RAS) and supplies shellfish products to the restoration market, has secured funding for a number of new aquaculture graduate positions, after winning a Scottish educational grant, which is courtesy of the Highlands and Islands Enterprises’ Graduate Support Program.

AquaMaof has just signed a contract to build a recirculating aquaculture system (RAS) facility for Swedish land-based salmon producer Smøgenlax Aquaculture. The facility will be built in the circular economy industrial park in Kungshamn/Smögen, in the Municipality of Sotenä, located in the western coast of Sweden.
