NaturalShrimp signs agreement to develop new RAS site

NaturalShrimp Florida announced it has entered into an agreement with the Jefferson County, Florida Board of Commission to lease a 10-acre tract of land where the company aims to develop a 250,00-square-foot inland shrimp production facility. Under the terms of the agreement, the board will lease or convey the property in the Jefferson County Industrial Park located South of Monticello, Fla.


BioMar scales up microalgae use in flagship feed line

Global animal feed producer BioMar said it is moving microalgae out of its niche fish feed ingredient status. The company’s facility in Brande, Denmark said it is scaling up the inclusion of microalgae in its raw material product portfolio in a bid to cut the dependence wild fish stocks.


Consortium draws plans for salmon RAS in UAE

A group of businesses based in the Middle East and Europe have banded together to develop a recirculating aquaculture systems (RAS) facility in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The project is intended to supply 2,000 metric tons per year of premium quality, locally grown, Atlantic salmon to the UAE, according to a press release from Ocean Harvest. Ocean Harvest if a newly founded aquaculture company based in UAE.
