A start-up aquaculture company is planning to build a RAS facility Raleigh County, West Virginia. Appalachian Salmon believes the region’s depleted underground mines and aquifers are ideal sources of freshwater for the project. Austin Caperton, founder of Appalachian Salmon, said that the construction of the 20-acre aquaculture centre he is planning will create 200 jobs, and operations in the facility will open up 100 more positions.
