French shrimp RAS firm launches thermal energy recovery project

Lisaqua of France has been selected as the launch pad for an ambitious project to use recovered thermal energy to power the company’s land-based aquaculture facility. The project will study the feasibility of setting up the first shrimp farm to convert the heat from an energy recovery unit in France.


AquaBounty breaks ground on 10,000 MT salmon RAS in Ohio

The project is expected to cost from US$290 million to $320 million. This new facility will be designed to have an annual capacity of 10,000 metric tons of genetically-modified Atlantic salmon. Commercial stocking of salmon eggs are expected to begin in late 2023.


The Kingfish Company secures €75M loan for expansion

The Kingfish Company said a €75-million bilateral loan is just received will finance its build-out in the Netherlands and bring the annual production of the land-based producer of yellowtail to 3,500 tons.
