Small-scale RAS is possible but challenging in sub-Sahara Africa: study

Small-scale recirculating aquaculture systems (RAS) could be viable in sub-Saharan Africa but its barrier to entry is still steeped with challenges, according to a new study. High investment cost is a great barrier for many urban farmers in the region.


Korea’s first RAS project to produce olive flounder

BlueGen Korea is building a 1,000-metric-ton RAS facility for olive flounder (Paralichthys olivaceus), also known as Japanese halibut. The project is led by the company’s CEO, Dr. Woo-Jai Lee, who has more than two decades of experiences in genomics and breeding projects in Norway.
